Selection and application of wall sound-absorbing materials.

Classification and Performance Comparison of Decorative Acoustic Panels

1. Fabric sound-absorbing panel (soft pack)

Construction: Fireproof cloth wrapped in A-grade centrifugal glass wool, optional resin/aluminum alloy frame, supports customized patterns

Performance: Full frequency balanced sound absorption, lightweight and easy to install (weighing about 3kg/㎡), no dust pollution, warm decorative style

Limitations: The fabric surface is prone to dust accumulation, and the environment with humidity greater than 60% is prone to mold growth

Applicable scenarios: Home theater KTV、 Hotel private room (needs to balance decoration and sound absorption effect)

2. Wooden sound-absorbing board

Construction: High density substrate with slotted perforations, backed with sound-absorbing felt, wood veneer enhances texture

Performance: Outstanding mid to high frequency sound absorption (sound absorption coefficient 0.5-0.8), E0 level environmental protection, moisture and mold resistance

Limitations: Installation requires reserving 5mm expansion joints (to prevent thermal expansion and contraction), and wall load-bearing capacity should be ≥ 30kg/㎡

Applicable scenarios: recording studios, theaters (with high voice clarity requirements), corporate conference rooms, villa background walls (with high-end decoration needs)

3. Perforated gypsum board

Construction: Perforated gypsum substrate (aperture 4-8mm, perforation rate 3-8%), covered with sound-absorbing film on the back

Performance: Significant low-frequency sound absorption advantage (sound absorption coefficient 0.6-0.9), A-level fireproof, seamless splicing

Limitations: Weak high-frequency sound absorption (sound absorption coefficient<0.4), construction flatness error should be ≤ 2mm

Applicable scenarios: Sports centers, factories (low-cost large-scale noise control), office areas, hospital ceilings (combined with air conditioning/lighting systems)

4. Wood fiber board

Construction: Composite compression of wood fiber and cement, porous structure (NRC up to 0.9)

Performance: Broadband sound absorption (low frequency 0.7-0.9, high frequency 0.8-1.0), A-level fire resistance, impact resistance (can withstand 10kg ball impact)

Limitations: Weight can reach 25-30kg/㎡, requiring installation of steel structure skeleton, high transportation cost

Applicable scenarios: Renovation of historical buildings (auditoriums, libraries, preserving natural textures), fitness centers, basketball courts (resistant to instrument impact)

5. Polyester fiber sound-absorbing board

Construction: 100% polyester fiber hot pressed, bendable (minimum curvature radius 300mm)

Performance: Excellent high-frequency sound absorption (noise reduction coefficient 0.8-1.1), formaldehyde emission of 0.05mg/L (E0 level)

Limitations: When the temperature resistance is ≤ 120 ℃ and the humidity is>70%, the sound absorption performance decreases by 15-20%

Applicable scenarios: Studios, art centers (curved design), school classrooms, children's play areas (safe without falling risks)
