How to reduce noise reflection and echo in the sports arena?

1、 Wall sound absorption: from acoustic barriers to aesthetic symbols

Pain points of traditional solutions:

Ordinary sound-absorbing panels are prone to moisture and deformation, and the decorative and modern feel of sports venues are difficult to integrate.


Our solution:

Patent sound-absorbing panel system

Metal perforated sound-absorbing panel: Made of 304 stainless steel perforated panel (aperture 6mm, perforation rate 25%) with 50mm centrifugal glass wool, the sound absorption coefficient of 125-4000Hz full frequency band sound is ≥ 0.85, especially good at absorbing human voice sound frequency (800-2000Hz). After the renovation of a sports arena in Beijing, the reverberation time of the audience's cheers decreased from 6.2 seconds to 2.8 seconds, and the clarity of live commentary increased by 40%.

Wood grain polyester fiberboard: made of environmentally friendly PET fibers, the surface can be customized with 3D wood grain texture, and the formaldehyde emission is only 0.01mg/m ³ (the national standard E1 level is 0.124mg/m ³). Spatial sound absorbing matrix

The independently developed "honeycomb type sound absorber" adopts a three-layer structure of aluminum frame, glass wool felt, and transparent fabric. The size of each module is 1.2m × 1.2m × 0.5m, suspended 3 meters away from the roof, and can absorb 65% of the top reflected sound. After applying 800 sets of sound absorbers in the Shenzhen Universiade Center Gymnasium, the reverberation time of the main venue was optimized from 5.8 seconds to 2.5 seconds, meeting the international competition standard (ISO 3382-2:2008).

Intelligent sound-absorbing ceiling system

In response to the demand for multifunctional venues, we have launched adjustable sound-absorbing curtains - which can be folded up normally without affecting the clear height of the space. During concerts, a 50mm thick polyester fiber curtain can be lowered, combined with top LED light strips, to achieve a dual upgrade of acoustic function and stage effect. A university gymnasium in Guangzhou can dynamically adjust the reverberation time between 3.2-1.8 seconds when switching between basketball games and cultural performances through this system.

3、 Door and window sound insulation: the last line of defense against external noise

Weak link breakthrough: 

The sound leakage of traditional aluminum alloy doors and windows can reach 15dB, which is equivalent to the sound insulation effect of opening a window.

Our precision solution:

Three layer soundproof door and window system

The customized soundproof window adopts 8mm+12A+6mm+12A+5mm three-layer insulated glass, matched with multi cavity bridge cut aluminum profiles. The window frame and wall are filled with self-developed butyl rubber sealing strips. The measured sound insulation level reaches 42dB (equivalent to reducing street noise from 75dB to 33dB). In a sports arena project in Hangzhou adjacent to an elevated bridge, the door and window system kept indoor noise below 45dB, meeting the needs of professional training.

Intelligent sealing monitoring system

Innovatively implanted pressure sensing strip, when the sound leakage value of the door and window gap exceeds 5dB, it automatically triggers the expansion of the inflatable sealing strip and completes the sealing reinforcement within 0.5 seconds. This technology has been applied to a national training base gymnasium, effectively responding to outdoor strong wind noise interference during typhoon weather.


4、 Ground shock absorption and sound insulation

Often overlooked details: 

The friction sound between sports shoes and the ground can reach 65dB, and the peak value of the impact sound of barbell landing can exceed 110dB instantly.

Our layered approach:

Shock absorption and sound insulation floor: Adopting a three-layer structure of "elastic base layer+sound insulation felt+sound absorption surface layer", the base layer is made of 10mm thick EPDM rubber particles, the middle layer is laid with 3mm self-adhesive sound insulation felt, and the surface layer can be made of sports PVC or solid wood composite floor. The actual test data shows that this scheme can reduce the sound of footsteps by 28dB and attenuate the impact sound of barbell landing by 45dB.

Intelligent sensing floor mat: A pressure sensing floor mat is embedded in the strength training area. When the impact of the equipment exceeds 80dB, the linkage wall absorption module automatically adjusts the angle to form a temporary sound barrier, which not only protects the hearing of athletes but also avoids interference with adjacent venues.


5、 Sound insulation system engineering

Pipeline noise reduction scheme

The ventilation duct adopts an "impedance composite muffler" with a built-in folded plate type sound absorbing sheet (thickness 50mm, sound absorption coefficient 0.92), combined with closed cell rubber insulation cotton wrapped around the outer wall of the duct (thermal conductivity 0.03W/(m · K), sound insulation volume 18dB), which can reduce the noise of the air conditioning system from 68dB to 42dB.

Equipment damping system

The self-developed combination of spring shock absorber and rubber isolation pad has a vertical stiffness of 0.2N/mm and a lateral stiffness of 0.3N/mm. It can control the vibration transmission ratio of equipment such as fans and water pumps below 0.05, and suppress solid sound transmission from the source.
